Very sad to say my good friend and mentor, David Von Ancken has passed away. David was one of our main producers/directors on @theorder When I auditioned for The Order, it was just David in the room. He gave me a few notes, looked at me quizzically, smiled and that was it. I was returning to my car when I got a phone call to go back up to the audition room - apparently David had been running around the halls and stairway trying to find me. I walked back into the audition room and another producer was now there. David said “I just told chad this kid is so awful, you just got to see him” (he was a big jokester). I did the audition again and the rest was history. Without him I would not of been brought into the amazing family that was The Order. We instantly hit it off and he guided me and gave me the confidence that it took to lead a show. He taught me so much and I will forever owe him. If you knew this man your life was made better. One of a kind doesn’t do justice. I’m sad we won’t get to create more together, but humbled by our experiences. Love you DVA. 🖤
