Bill Russell. A champion and leader who rose above unthinkable racism and adversity with the same power and grace as the above-the-rim verticality and dominance that he brought to the game. An 11x NBA champion, Olympian, five-time MVP, 12-time All-Star, and Hall of Famer... the list of his basketball accomplishments goes on and on, but his contributions and impact off the court — his life-long fight for equality, respect, and inclusion are what make him truly legendary to me. Thank you, Bill, for everything you did to make sport (and the world) a better place for all of us. RIP.
