I get to be called “mom” by these two. It was my choice and is truly my joy (even on days that they are frustrating or annoying or churlish). I get to be a cheerleader, a warden, an advisor, a nursemaid, a confidante, a debater, and a comfort. I love it. I love being their mother. On this day I encourage you to give a shout out to the people in your life who filled any or all of these roles. We moms get a special day but not everyone who does mom-like things has that title. Whether it’s a family friend, relative, neighbor, teacher, or co-worker...let that person know. It could be a bright moment on a day that can be gloomy. 💗
