@peacocktv ‘s FIRST movie premieres tonight, at midnight, WORLDWIDE, and I’m the star of it! But that’s not where our story begins; 8 years ago, thanks to #peacock ‘s parent company, @nbcuniversal , and the @lalgbtcenter , and my mentor @karamo , a very young Quei was awarded a scholarship to pay for her tuition in acting classes, get headshots, and buy play books at the now defunct @samuelfrenchbookshop on Sunset Blvd. It has been the opportunity to learn my craft, and sharpen my talent, over these last 8 years that has made me the artist that I am. I always knew, that one day, (even if it took nearly a DECADE) I was gonna work with #universal and that it was gonna be HUGE. That’s why I held on to this scholarship award certificate, since 2014. You all have been doing the work; cultivating queer, trans, and Black talent—before it was popular. So, from the bottom of my heart, ♥️ thank you, BIRDIE 🦚. Note: I have taken my mother’s last name (Tann) because she is the only parent I have, that has shown me love. That other name is crossed out for a reason. ♥️
