Old Fashioneds are great and all, I clearly love them, but I personally believe that this classic New Orleans cocktail is far superior. The Sazerac goes way way back, and was apparently served at a pharmacy or apothecary back in the day for medicinal purposes 🥃 Sadly, you won’t find any Sazeracs at your local CVS... so you’ll have to make this at home. S A Z E R A C – 1 oz Cognac 1 oz 100-proof rye whiskey 1 teaspoon Demerara syrup 4 dashes Peychaud’s 2 dashes Aromatic bitters Absinthe Lemon oil Combine ingredients and stir with ice. Rinse a rocks glass with absinthe and strain the cocktail. Express the citrus oils from a lemon peel and discard. #highproofpreacher #sazerac #bartenderlife
