I, who have put myself into the experimental dance music scene for a long time as an electronic music composer, would like to re-explore the relationship between electronic music and dance. This time I would like to bring the dialogic music that individuals can dive into each their own universe through the dance as non-verbal language, not the collective ritualistic dance music to bring people to the altered state of consciousness at the dance floor. Electronic music is an aerial vibration born from nothing, and it can journey beyond space and time being separated from me that is a physical substance. Music is a language, and the recording is a letter. Dance is a voice, and the storyteller Virpi will convey the message to the audience with more depth and subtlety. At present, when the international situation is changing at a rapid pace and the world has a lot of political/environmental problems, it is not always possible for everyone to travel easily. There are also people who cannot leave home for a variety of reasons. However, I would like to show that it is possible to express ourselves even under such circumstances by cooperating with local staff/artists, as a modern way of communication and art expression. This time I wrote music under the theme of 'Dukkha' for the collaboration with dancer Virpi Pahkinen. The music is cut by hand on vinyl as a lathe-cut record in Japan, and it is delivered to Stockholm by airmail as a "music letter" from me. It is also available for purchase after the show, as the only one special vinyl with hand-painted cover. I hope it immerses the audience in the world we create and makes them feel something, whatever that feeling may be.
