It’s officially pumpkin season! Sharing my favorite way to kick off fall, recipe below.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tbs sugar
2 tsp salt
1 packet active dry yeast
4 oz butter
4 1/2 c all purpose flour (22 oz)
Vegetable oil (for pan)
10 c water
1/3 c baking powder
2 large egg yolks beaten with water
Course salt
Prepare dough by dissolving salt and sugar in warm water and sprinkle yeast on top. Allow to foam and then add flour and melted butter. Combine, let dough rest until doubled in size.
Roll out dough and cut into 8 equal sections. Form into bun shape and tie with twine as if tying a bow on a present. I did 8 sections for each roll. Boil 10 c water with 1/3 c baking powder. Place one pretzel in at a time and boil for 30 seconds. Remove from water and brush with egg wash and sprinkle salt Once all pretzels have been boiled and salted, bake at 450° for 15-18 minutes. Enjoy! 🎃
