Watching Fire Island in a room full of queers during Pride has probably become a core memory for me now. Hilarious and tender, I felt so moved knowing that young queer Asians all over the world could see a vision of their future in all of its messiness and glory. When was the last time we got a story about queer joy and exuberance, written by a queer person, and brought to life by a queer cast and director?! I heard that when @andrewahnfilms was shopping the film around, he presented images taken in his old backyard where his house would hold parties. These intimate community driven images was how he wanted the film to feel. I wanted to create a photo that embodied that feeling too. A little messy but with a lot of love that made it all glow.
