I’ve been reflecting on 9/11 and remember it as the most frightening day of my life. I can so clearly remember every detail of what happened that tragic morning and the days that reluctantly followed despite it being 21 years ago. I remember everyone in our family was glued to our TV in silence and the kitchen phone ringing non stop hearing from everyone I had ever met asking if ‘We were all right?’ I remember the next morning standing with my 6 year old son at the fence at the playground. ‘Look mommy, big guns and big soldiers!’ and watching in disbelief as hundreds of army tanks rolled down Fifth headed to Wall Street. I remember walking past the local fire station bent in tears over 20 photos of deceased firefighters along with the many flowers hastily pasted to the stations red garage doors. Their wives were inside crying. I was on a high from selling my business just 4 days before and had been planning the company celebration the Monday when everything came came crashing down. Instead we gathered everyone together on Friday morning at the Pierre and had our 1000 people join hands and sing God Bless America! Everyone cried as they sang. But we left the hotel ballroom knowing how deeply we loved our City and our America to our very core. Then our great city recovered and but our country was changed forever. #911neverforget 📸: @911memorial
