Take a look back through our archive at Her Majesty The Queen’s long association with the Southbank Centre, that began at the very start, with her attendance at our Royal Festival Hall’s inaugural concert in 1951. Her Majesty officially opened the Hayward Gallery in 1968, and prior to that in 1967, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, which was named in her honour.
