Running does wonders for your mind and it is one of the main ways that I manage my mental health🤩 I know not everyone can run due to physical impairments or injuries.. this can be applied to cycling, swimming or brisk-walking. Why? Because exercise releases endorphins.. which are what are behind that “runners high” you feel after exercising. Here are the proven benefits of running even just once! 1. More Energy- I have said it before, to get more energy you need to move more! Exercise increases oxygen circulation in the body which supports your mitochondria( energy producers in each cell) which makes your body stronger and more efficient 2. Stress Management- it increases the bodies concentration of norepinephrine which moderates how the body deals with stress 3. Calms the mind- again you have chemicals that are released during and after the run that reduce anxiety 4. Releases neurotransmitters- these help the nerves make new connections which research has shown to improve depressive symptoms 5. Improves cognitive function- if you have more energy to then be able to focus, concentrate and then process emotions, daily tasks, etc... I know some will say... but I cant run 😂 (those who physically can) You do not need to run a 10k, or even a 5k... You do not need to be fast either ( I am not😂) The important thing is that yes you will be crap at first as well all are but you have to start somewhere right?!?!
