Can’t help not to falling in love with this pool view The eastern part of Bali consists mainly of the district of Karangasem. This district is famous among others for the holy volcano Gunung (Mount) Agung and Bali’s most important temple, the Pura Besakih, located at the slopes of Mount Agung and also often referred to as Bali’s Mother Temple. Gunung Agung is with its 3142 meters Bali’s highest mountain. The last eruption of the Agung volcano took place at March 17, 1963 which isolated the greater part of the east of the island, covering it with ashes and causing failure of most crops. Thousands of people were killed by the hot lava streams and toxic clouds of hot gasses rolling down the slopes of the volcano.
