The documentary, “The Janes,” tells the story of headstrong female activists at the forefront of the Roe v. Wade battle. They built an underground network to provide low-cost and free illegal abortions to women with unwanted pregnancies. From 1969 to 1973, the Jane Collective performed an estimated 11,000 abortions, helping low-income women and women of color.
