Olive-brown sea snake Aipysurus laevis is a species of venomous sea snake found in the Indo-Pacific. Are naturally curious and are known to approach SCUBA divers, not aggressively but inquisitively, especially at night. Steve’s Bommie is one of the iconic dives sites at Ribbon Reef number 3 and I have a few encounters with this guy in the last few months. Little we know about the population of sea snakes on the north Great Barrier Reef.
