Queen of Punk @viviennewestwood has passed away. 🕊️ Surrounded by loved ones in South London in her final moments, Westwood died peacefully at age 81. An official statement—addressing the designer’s passing, as well as, her Taoism beliefs—reads, “Tao spiritual system. There was never more need for the Tao today. Tao gives you a feeling that you belong to the cosmos and gives purpose to your life; it gives you such a sense of identity and strength to know you’re living the life you can live and therefore ought to be living: make full use of your character and full use of your life on earth.” Best remembered for collections like “Pirates” and “Anglomania”, which had a great influence on fashion and culture of the time, Westwood had veered towards new causes like environmentalism, proving that she never stopped staying relevant when it came to tackling social issues in her designs.
