Here’s a compilation of my trifle series thus far 👉 What’s one word you’d use to describe trifles? For me, it’s LAYERS! So many layers. I wanted to go for minimalist composition because the FOCUS for me was making sure the layers were drool-worthy 🤤 New flash - getting all those layers right is a challenge. A challenge I was up for. Whether it’s creating a one-bowl trifle or individual ones, a lot of thought and planning went into layer by layer. Other composition techniques I used across the series were: ▪️Adding movement to each shot (even if I didn’t show those shots here). ▪️Shooting the dishes in either a warm or cool tone, light or dark. ▪️A mix of one-bowl and individual trifles for variety. ▪️Using different glassware for interest. ▪️Unique layers with each recipe. I’d like to also call out that maybe it seems like styling these was easy for me. BUT, I’ve been trying to shoot trifles for a few years now and I lacked the skills. This year, I decided it would be a project to work on my skills. I’ve had many epic failures and messes in the past. This is just a reminder that you can master any food subject with time and practice 🤗
