I have been listening to this song on repeat and thinking about the role of the spiral in our lives... what lessons come from the moments when we are flooded with emotions like fear, grief, sadness. How can I be present and catch my breath when I’m exhausted, losing hope, and/or in pain. I need time to rest. I also need to keep showing up in my practice even when I don’t feel embodied.
It’s been a heavy year. So moving my body in some way helps me be present with the spiral as it arises, movement gets me rooted and back into my body when I want to disassociate. Sometimes disassociation is necessary too though for some of us to survive. all these things can be true and co-exist. And I’m grateful to be able to do what makes sense for my body in this moment.
