Tatler celebrates diversity and inclusion in its August 2022 issue. Embodying the ideals of love and acceptance are our cover stars, Angie and Joey Mead King. Shot by one of the country’s best photographers, BJ Pascual, Angie and Joey tell us the story of how difficult—but also liberating—it was to make the decision they made for each other, and how through it all, ‘love wins’ in the end.
Notable Spanish photographer Fernando Manso returns to the pages of Tatler with his spectacular snapshots of transgender models who radiate beauty and grace, all shot in majestic Cebu. In collaboration with top fashion designer Cary Santiago, and costume pieces by Cebu designers Jongz and Aldo Loquinario. Manso’s photoshoot is a visual feast that must not be missed in this month’s issue.
Tatler also embraces our perfect imperfections in the article, “Your Body is a Wonderland”, which tackles body positivity, and in “Models of Diversity”, which explores the resurgence of a new breed of inclusive fashion models from varying countries, backgrounds and looks. Art activist Amar Singh then challenges museums to allow more spaces to include female artists and LGBTQ+ causes.
We have two powerful articles that pay homage to our glorious heritage and indigenous tribes. First, the executive director of Ortigas Foundation Library, John Silva, shares 100 rare images of the Cordilleras taken between 1900 and 1925. The second is photographic narrative from Cebu-based American photographer, Jacob Maentz whose book “Homebounds” showcases spellbinding images of indigenous communities from all over the archipelago.
This and so much more are in this month’s issue of Tatler!
