The Beauty of Tea Leaves The deeper into the journey of tea I go the more I see that while I truly connect to the Tea as a Healing Plant Medicine, I also deeply connect to the healing in art and beauty contained within Tea. Beauty, beauty, beauty - this message keeps coming to me. This might feel superficial for some, and not as deep as presence, healing and other buzzwords. But for me this is such a food and medicine for my heart and soul. In the same way as when I watch the films of Bertolucci, Antonioni and the like, sometimes the scenes take my breath away, in that same way I see the beauty in Tea that takes us into our heart and connects us through the beauty to something bigger than us. It is healing for me too. And when the beautiful photography is made with tea - that inspires me and nourishes me sooooo much. So when I saw the recent project with the vinyls of my two friends from Riga - creative art director @nata.bu and a talented photographer @ntodoresa, I told them, I also want something like this! And even when the circumstances around my dentist changed and suddenly I only had a window of time between 12pm on Thursday and 2pm on Friday for our photo journey to happen - this involving a total of almost 14 hours on the road, I knew I will travel and we will make this happen. And it did! It was such a beautiful creative process that inspired me and nourished me so much. So much fun, so many ideas, so much beauty, so much discomfort of walking and climbing through ice cold water, and slippery rocks and sand with teapots, hot water and cameras, bitten by mosquitos while it was getting darker and darker. And so much laugh! I didn't sleep much in those two days, but the nourishment my heart and soul received was enormous and fueled me in unimaginable ways. Beauty, grace and creativity - important elements for me, and are so often overlooked in my life through my seriousness and ascetic nature. Tea is Beauty. Tea is Art.
