Detail shots from last nights cocktail event with the incredibly warm @faire_wholesale team up in @chezzou. Event photography is one of my favorite assignments. Moving through a room and letting my curiosity and sensitivity guide me just feels so normal. It’s in these setting that I feel the closest to God. The best photographers have to be like a thermostat, not the thermometer (something my lulu manager @dolce_getripe would say to me when I’d get overwhelmed) meaning that the individual is responsible for regulating the temperature around them, as opposed to being at the mercy of it. To bring Christ’s character into a space means that no matter what happens, one holds onto the calm that one receives from him, and doesn’t let the environment rob them of it. My faith in Christ empowers me to strive to foster a sense of safety, openness, joy, freedom, acceptance and ultimately trust as the photographer—something that goes way beyond the assignment of the images.
