I came here two days ago to protest against racial injustice. I stood on 16th street yelling to hundreds of armed US military troops (and the world) that my life matters. Today I stood on Black Lives Matter Plaza! Look what WE did. To every person who has used their voice and resources for black lives, I appreciate you. Our voices are so powerful. And while this isn’t structural change, I believe symbolism is extremely important because it penetrates our subconscious. It reminds us what’s important and it gives us hope.
