Recently, in an interview, I was asked why live entertainment is important. Great question ✨ Live entertainment is important, particularly in this city, in order to hold a mirror up to editing culture. Juxtaposed against the film industry, rampant social media use, lack of in-person communication/auditions, curated self-image (believe it or not I rarely look like this 😋) live entertainment is just that - live and unedited! You are seeing people as they are, only as good and as personable and as trained as they actually are - it’s truly a revolutionary act to gamble with your ego like this haha. The are no redos or repeats on the live stage, if you trip you better have a charming way of recovering and refocusing, if your media looks shiny and polished on your socials but your live performance is kind of crunchy, people may take note. I personally love the high-stakes nature of it all, there is nothing to hide behind. You’re your own harshest critic yet the audience and cast always seem to have your back and that duality is what makes stage performance particularly special - that mix of self doubt and acknowledgment. The joy I've derived from the opportunities to perform on historic stages all over the world and reversely the joy I've felt being in the audience watching incredible productions/acts unfold in front of me is truly unparalleled. In this digital age, that physical connection with your community and its zeitgeist is a vital part of being happy and healthy! ♥️ Unglue yourself from your screens, and go support your local production ♥️ Unreal photo by my Czech sister @vsanchorstudio 🇨🇿 #longlivelive
