When we started dreaming about Blink Twice a big part of the appeal in collaborating with other artists was the idea of performing the songs live with them. We have a long history of sharing the stage with our tour mates and it’s usually a rambunctious cover at the end of the night. But never our *own* songs. Getting to play with @lights for the last month has been a joy. We’ve been friends for over a decade and share the same management. Watching her every night, I’m reminded that despite her success and amazing career, Lights doesn’t get close to enough credit for everything she does as an artist. She produces her own music. She writes her own songs. She’s a visual artist with her own graphic novel. She’s a tattoo artist. The list goes on. She’s effortless in her abilities. The Europe run was a blast in every sense. Lights and her bandmates Stefan and Brodie shared the tour bus with Arkells and we all shared the same crew. It felt like a family band roaming across Europe together. The jolt of energy that Lights’ brought every night to our set is exactly what we hoped for when we were recording the song.
