A tribute to my late Mother-in-law 🤍⁠ ⁠ 2 years ago, @mattkorinek and I started the process of putting together a family cookbook of his late mother's recipes.⁠ ⁠ We celebrate her every time we make her recipes and they truly bond the family together. So we compiled 10 of her most-loved recipes and made a little book.⁠ ⁠ It took us so long because we had to translate her Czech recipes into English (our last name is Czech in case you didn't know!) and a lot of her recipes didn't have exact quantities. We set out to test all recipes and make sure the quantities were right so her recipes didn't get lost with future generations.⁠ ⁠ Czech food can be a challenge to photograph as it's a lot of orange and beige foods — which we all know can be hard! I wanted the photos to be approachable and remembered as she would make them, whilst also bringing a touch of my style to the book.⁠ ⁠ Here are some of my favourites: 👉️⁠ ⁠ 🔸 Rybí polívka (fish soup)⁠ 🔸 Tatarka (tartar sauce)⁠ 🔸 Táč (plum cake) — we made this almost weekly in late summer⁠ 🔸 Švestkový knedlíky (plum dumplings)⁠ ⁠ This was truly a labour of love for us. I just hope that I can leave as beautiful of an impact on my family as she did, through food.⁠
