Oh swat , What a fighter you are 🏔🇵🇰 Pakistan has declared a state of emergency. I went to swat a couple days ago where the floods are really bad. Alhumdulilha, we had decided to stay back a day and not travel to kalam because it was light rain and the roads can be tricky. We spent the day in the hotel. The next morning we were woken up with banging on the door at 6am, telling us that we have to evacuate the hotel and go downstairs. We saw fast hard waves coming and houses being ripped apart. The most scary part of watching the water was seeing shoes and clothes or, just random items from a household and it was just a reminder that someone’s house was torn apart. The feeling of being helpless is the worst feeling ever. A huge shoutout to the Pathan community is Bahrain, Swat. All three hotels we stayed at, never asked us to pay. When, we would go out to grab ingredients to cook, they would continuously say that you don’t need to pay, it’s okay. It just really opened my eyes that the people of swat are going through so much yet, they are still worrying about us and how we will get home. They never let their hospitality guard down.
