Hi! It’s been so long since I’ve posted something personal. I guess I’ve been more worried about the aesthetic of my page than I have being *AUTHENTIC*. I had a page that was hacked, it was balanced between who I am and what I do. Here’s the thing: we all (as hairdressers) get caught up in worrying about people seeing our work, and making sure we’re only posting the MOST perfect pictures of HAIR. You know, though? That’s boring as fuck. It really is. And I worry about the stupid grid, and the tones and the backgrounds. The truth is, I don’t give a shit. This is SOCIAL media. Hair is my business, it’s my career, and it’s my passion. But it’s NOT my whole life. I’m a mom. I fish, and I golf (badly, but I do it anyway...). I love the sun and concerts- live music is everything. I love being surrounded by artists and laughter. I love teaching and being a national educator for @hanzonation. So here’s what my promise to you is: authenticity. No more of this griddy, aesthetic, boring bullshit. I’m going back to who I am- a human who wants to share my love of life, family, hair, laughter, food, fashion and the sun with y’all. Yeah, I’m going to post the hair that I do. I’m not about to stop that. But you’re also going to see everything else. Because I’m sick of seeing a feed full of nonsensical intrinsic lameness and being booooored AF. So hey, I’m back.
