Too often we try to avoid feelings like sadness, anxiousness, frustration, etc. but we’re human and it’s inevitable that some days won’t be as great as others.
I used to force trying to be happy and joyful 24/7 but life just isn’t like that.
I wanted these uncomfortable emotions to go away ASAP so I can go back to being happy again but that approach has the opposite effect actually.
It made me stuck in it for longer because I wasn’t allowing it to freely take its course
I began to accept these uncomfortable emotions and allow it to flow how it’s suppose to.
Yes, I believe in working on ourselves to prevent certain uncomfortable emotions or to help ourselves work through and out of them (aka building resilience) but the part of letting go of control brought me more joy.
Not just joy but also find happiness even through the difficult days.
Taking action on giving ourselves that space to rest and recharge is important for our mental health and overall wellbeing.
If you’re feeling a little down today, take a moment to replenish and realign yourself.
Never stop giving those basic needs to you.
Here are few things that recharge me:
☀️ sunlight
🍃 earthing
🎶 listening to my favorite playlists
💃🏻 dancing
🧘🏻♀️ meditating
🧴 skincare / makeup therapy
🍱 making food / drinks
☎️ talking to someone I love
🚙 going for a drive
🚴🏻♀️ a physical activity
