Insecure about running on your own? Don't be. Most times, people aren't paying you any attention + frankly, to hell with anyone that have a problem with you taking up space. Learning + constantly redefining my why - and not in that cheesy influencer way - reminds me of why I run during my low moments. If someone give you shit about your speed, distance, clothing or "n0T l0oKiNg liKe a rUnnEr" - whether in the fitness community or not - can go kick rocks barefoot. We're possibly never going to see these folks again and if you have walking rage like me, try this mantra: "Today's not a great day to go to jail over irrelevant opinions." Say that 10 times as you imagine your foot buried in their Ruby Tuesday's and bring a light smile to your face. Allow that image to carry you for several miles. On a serious note, the best way to get past this anxiety is to work on it in consistently, focus on your purpose and start in a familiar place until you build up your confidence.
