Training Tip Tuesday: I get nervous too. There are times in training when I stand on the trail with my palms sweating, my heart beating out of my chest, and my mind racing about the obstacle ahead of me. I’m not an adrenaline junkie. That feeling isn’t one that I seek out and live for, but it comes all the same. Instead of thriving on that feeling, I thrive on overcoming it. I love the challenge of talking myself down and reasoning out how to conquer the obstacle. I’ve always been an analytical person so I approach the trail in that same way. The “just send it” mentality can only get me so far. When I approach something scary on the trail I answer these questions: 1. Have I done something similar to this before? 2. Do I know my exact line and have my marks to hit? 3. Do I know my cues and body mechanics required to do this feature? 4. Am I willing to fully commit? • 📸: @rewikstrom / @competitivecyclist
