On my way to Des Moines, IA for photo equipment. Full day of driving will definitely bring on a flood of thoughts. 10 days left and I’m off the road for 2022. I’m so ready for a break. Rejuvenate my soul, mind and well being w/ family and enjoy a bit of familiarity back home for a few weeks. Take the time to also tweak a few items on my to-do list for my business, too. On the flip side of the coin of all that is, I’m also feeling a weird sense of dread. Of course it’s brought on by the unknowns of 2023 and what’s in store for me. 2022 has been quite the year for me. Three years of this lifestyle and I have recognized all the hard work paying off in 2022. I’ve also checked off a lot of personal wish list items, too on the road. Like, National Parks, meeting other wet plate photographers in RL, and seeing old friends after so many years. . With 2023 around the bend and all of it’s unknowns. I just hope this way of living hasn’t hit its peak yet for me. There’s just so much I haven’t seen of this country, all the new folks I hope I get to meet, work w/ and hell, fingers crossed the bus has another 50k+ miles in it before it gives me any major issues. 😬😅 (( let’s all hope gas drops to a steady $2.15 a gallon 🤞🏼)) . I have no idea how to finish these rambling thoughts but to just wrap it up by saying how grateful I am to all yinz, new friends and old, business owners who teamed up w/ me on events, all the folks who received a tintype from me and to all the strangers I sipped coffee with and conversations to help pass the time. .
