✨ This is Tilly - she is 9 years old, a little bookworm, frame runner and swimmer!
During her first trimester, Joanna, Tilly's mother, contracted cytomegalovirus (CMV) - a common virus that can cause epilepsy, deafness and cerebral palsy.
"After missed milestones at around the age of 4/5 months, I became concerned. After many appointments, Tilly was diagnosed with cerebral palsy around her first birthday.
Tilly uses a multitude of things to help her with her mobility - tripod sticks, a walker and a wheelchair for longer distances.
As she's gotten older, she has expressed the need to meet and talk to other kids with cerebral palsy. Through Cerebral Palsy Alliance, she has been introduced to the wonderful world of Frame Running. Here she met girls that she calls her “CP Girl Gang”, all with walkers, sticks and wheelchairs. It is so important for her to be around and see representation of people just like her - which is why STEPtember this year has really made her so happy! She gets EXTREMELY excited when she sees STEPtember on the sides of buses - shouting to the passengers “Hello STEPtember cerebral palsy bus! I’m Tilly and I have CP too!” 🥰💚
Joanna and 'Team Tilly' have raised a phenomenal $32,953 for people living with cerebral palsy, like Tilly 🌟
