Homemade chia crackers are an excellent source of fiber, protein, essential amino acids, and alpha-linolenic (ALA) fatty acids (an omega-3 fatty acid). This recipe by @nestwellness_ is so easy and fast—giving you a grain-free cracker just in time for holiday parties. Chia Crackers recipe by Beth Bollinger Ingredients - 1/4 cup chia seeds - 3/4 cup sunflower seeds - 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds - 1/4 cup sesame seeds - 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder - 3/4 cup water - Sea salt to taste (about 1/8 tsp) - Optional spices: garlic powder, onion powder; herbs such as thyme, oregano, rosemary; zaatar or everything bagel spice Instructions In a food processor, combine all dry ingredients and pulse. Add water and pulse until combined and your dough forms. Let the mixture rest and thicken for 20 minutes so the chia and psyllium plump. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper, then cut the flat rolled dough into rectangles or squares. Sprinkle sea salt or spices as you desire. Bake for 1 hour at 300o. When lightly browned and crisp, the crackers are ready. The exact time in the oven will depend on how thick or thin you roll the dough. Thicker crackers may need 10-15 minutes more. Once cooled, carefully break the chia crackers apart. Enjoy! Make sure to tag @nestwellness_ and @levels when you make and share your own chia crackers. Read more about why we love chia seeds at the link in our bio. #chia #amino #metabolichealth #metabolism #levels #health #cgm
