#Repost @galerieperrotin ・・・ Opening soon in Perrotin’s new exhibition space in Seoul: Emma Webster ‘Illuminarium’ conceived specially for Dosan Park, marks @emma_webstah’s debut with Perrotin and in Asia. Emma Webster’s landscape paintings are exercises in unbridled imagination. The places she depicts, at turns convincing and hallucinatory, simply do not exist. They spring from Webster's mind and are subject to a series of imaging processes before they are transposed to the canvas. Webster works with Virtual Reality software to contrive these spaces, bending matter and light to create natural vistas that relish in artifice, drama and distortion. ‘Illuminarium’ will be presented at Perrotin Seoul Dosan Park from August 27 to October 1 __ 페로탕은 서울에 새로운 전시 공간을 개관합니다. 페로탕 도산파크 개관전을 위해 준비된 전시 《일루미나리움》을 통해 아시아 최초로 엠마 웹스터의 신작을 선보입니다. 엠마 웹스터의 풍경화는 관람객들을 다른 차원의 세상으로 안내합니다. 작가가 묘사한 장소들은 몽환적 이면서도 있을 법하고, 예상 가능한 공간의 모습에 신비로운 판타지적 요소를 더합니다. 회화 작품들은 화면 안에서 스케치와 조각이 혼합된 과정을 거쳐 만들어집니다. 작가는 우선 가상현실(VR) 상에서 장면을 구성하고, 무대조명을 사용해 눈속임, 극적인 요소, 왜곡적 묘사가 담긴 광활한 풍광을 연출합니다. 작가는 자신의 가상현실 모델에 대해, “화면 ‘안에서’ 작업하는 것은 우리가 세계를 경험하는 방식과 유사 하다. 다른 ‘외부’는 존재할 수 없다” 라고 표현합니다. 《일루미나리움》은 페로탕 도산파크에서 8월 27일부터 10월 1일까지 열릴 예정입니다. __ @emma_webstah #Illuminarium #PerrotinSeoul #Perrotin #일루미나리움 #페로탕도산파크 #페로탕
