Thanks for all the love on “Takin’ Me Down” in the past week y’all. For the past couple years I would throw on my demo of this song in my car and listen. I would always feel super stoked about it, then when I thought about what it would take to “finish it” I would critique it pretty harshly. That usually led me to believe it wasn’t good enough, but then I’d always play in my car again a day or two later. It took realizing that no matter how much I critiqued my own song, I was still listening to it in my car for fun two years later, which meant that *DING DING DING* - I liked it! So I decided to finish it and put it out. Hopefully it won’t take me two years to realize that for every song going forward. I tried re recording some stuff to “fix” it, then decided nothing was as cool as it was when I first had the idea and captured it. So the vocals, guitars, or any recorded parts are all the ones from the demo I made in my apartment two years ago.
