If you are an existing Magic Key holder and wanted to upgrade your Magic Key type (Example - Upgrading an Imagine Key pass to an Inspire Key pass) while outside of your pass renewal window, that would have PREVIOUSLY meant that you had to physically go to a Disneyland Resort ticket booth and upgrade the pass IN-PERSON… NOW, Disneyland is allowing Magic Key holders to upgrade from one Magic Key type to a higher level pass ONLINE via the Disneyland App or through the Disneyland website! This is a HUGE jump toward convenience! Keep in mind that if you’re wanting to upgrade your Magic Key while outside of your normal pass renewal window (within 30 days of your pass expiration date), the higher-level pass you want to upgrade to must be available for *new* sales. If the new pass you want is NOT available for new sales, you will have to wait until your renewal window to renew into the pass you want. Also, when upgrading your Magic Key pass online while outside of your renewal window, the total amount of the difference between your current and the new pass will be due right away (Example - If you are upgrading from an Enchant Key to the Believe Key, the difference in price between the two passes is $500, which will be due at the time of online upgrade). I can see this new option giving guests a much better chance to plan upcoming Magic key visits ahead of time!
