George Eastman Museum, gift of Irene Fredette. Dorothy Wilding photographed Queen Elizabeth II many times, with their first portrait sitting being in 1937 at the coronation of King George VI. In honor of Her Majesty's accession and coronation, Wilding made numerous portraits of the Queen, including the one pictured here. The best images were circulated around the world in the media, as well as on bank notes and stamps.
