Outdoor adventurers: join us in saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the @nationalparkservice! In celebration of their 106th birthday, we're honoring some of our favorite National Parks. Now, outdoor travel blogger @lostwithlydia takes us on a tour of Texas and New Mexico National Parks. Here are some of @lostwithlydia's tips for visiting these parks: ✈️ Fly into El Paso and rent a car to go drive between them. 🚗 Overall, this area is very remote. Fill up on gas whenever you can and make sure you’re always stocked up with food and water. 🏜️ Big Bend: My favorite of the 4 parks! This park is gigantic and has desert scenery, mountains and the Rio Grande River. If you are going to spend more time in one of the parks, I would pick this one! ⛰️ Guadalupe Mountains: This national park is really great for hikers. Two of the must-do hikes are Guadalupe Peak trail (the highest peak in Texas) and the Devil’s Hall trail. 🌄 Carlsbad Caverns: This national park is great for families. Take a self-guided tour of the cave and be amazed by the many rock formations. Be sure to reserve an entry time in advance. ☀️ White Sands: This national park is beautiful for photography and a lot of fun! Go sledding down the sand dunes, hike through the sand dunes and try to see a sunrise or sunset. What's your favorite National Park? Let us know in the comments, and throw a 🎉 in the comments to celebrate @nationalparkservice with us.
