Ok, queue the softest, sappiest thing I've ever posted ever but it's for love so it's ok 😄 Exactly one year ago today, I met up with a coworker friend of mine for brunch before going to the Van Gogh Experience I'm NYC. It was the hottest and most humid day of the summer and I was feeling like a sweaty mess. I was also beyond nervous because I had a crush on this coworker friend for over a year and today was the day I was meeting her in person. I got to the restaurant early (friends who know me know this does not happen often lol) and she got there not long after I did. When she did, she looked like a literal angel in her white sun dress. Man, ya boy was smitten right away. So, we sit down and have our brunch, and we just, click. It feels as if I have always known this person and my soul had been searching for her my entire life. At this point, I hadn't really made it clear if we were on a date or not and I was quite nervous to bring that up because I wasn't sure if she felt the same way. And also, because, ya know, she's a coworker and if I made a mistake/read the signs wrong I would feel AWFUL. Alright, fast-forward time, we got to the Van Gogh exhibit and have a wonderful time. We take our pictures, buy some merch, and continued to skirt around the 'is this a date?' conversation. Thankfully, neither of us wanted the day to end so we went to get dinner and she convinced me to try frogs legs. Before anyone asks, yes I like them and yes they taste just like chicken haha. We ended up getting a couple drinks and I finally mustered up the courage to grab her hand at our table. I confessed that I'd been wanting to do that all day and that I had feelings for her for a long time. To my delight, she confessed the same and how she was trying to get me to hold her hand for well over several hours. Reading signs is not my strong suit lol Fast forward again to today and we have spent a whole year traveling together, making memories together, watching shows and movies and plays/musicals together, cooking together, and growing together. I'm beyond happy to be your partner and friend, and I am so unbelievably in love with you. 🤗😘
