That’s a wrap on @belgianwaffleride Michigan! It was a rowdy course with lots of sand and quite a bit of single track. The lead 4 women all missed a turn early in the course which costed some significant time. I spent the remaining 110 miles chasing and eventually caught back up to the lead woman. Once we hit the single track in the final 8 miles, @erun_o’s technical riding skills were on full display as she rode away for the win. There wasn’t anything I could do except enjoy that extra time in the woods and reflect on how proud I was for fighting my way back to a second place finish. I was happy Erin took the win as she’s a class act rider and it was fun to race with her for a bit. #heropulls My @ventumracing GS1 handled the single track well and I even found myself enjoying the underbiking. It was fun to see @momittbikefest start something great to showcase all the beauty of Michigan and I was proud to see most of the podiums (men and women) as Michigan riders. #michiganrepresent Aside from the 8hrs of racing, I especially enjoyed some QT with @lindsey__stevenson as she flew in to race and was also able to see family. Having my cousin’s daughters cheer for me with their signs was definitely the highlight as I finished a brutal day.
