“What shaped my life, you mean? Wow, that’s a complicated question.” So starts our cover interview with the iconic Juergen Teller, a photographer whose editorial work has straddled the worlds of art and fashion for over 30 years and is recontextualised in his latest tome, Donkey Man and Other Stories (Rizzoli). “I am very direct, and I am very open to trying new things,” says Teller of his process. “I’m also very open to admitting I don’t know quite how to do a picture right now, and exploring that until I do.
