What if I told you, "God be knowin'"? That is how T and I connected. God. It was about 10 days before my trip to Bali. My coordinator had noted her calendar to exchange my luggage for me. But with busy schedules constantly shifting, something told me to go the luggage boutique myself--Sooner rather than later. And so I did. While inside the decently busy luggage boutique, I spotted someone with fly shades and stylish boots. It took a moment, but I recognized her. As she walked toward the door, I gingerly walked closer to her and said, "Hi, Taraji. We've met before over the years and I know many of your team members. I'm Tai. Thank you for all you do for mental health and black communities. Taraji graciously responded. "Thank you so much sis! Thank you! Happy holidays! Happy Holidays to you all!" and then left the store. On December 21, day 1 of my stay in #Bali, I look up to see... @tarajiphenson! Our eyes met and I blurt out, "Gurl, can you believe this? God is up to something! It's Tai from the luggage store in LA." "Oh my God, are you serious?!" We laughed in disbelief. Later that day, we connect and learn that we share a mutual friend @swaady_martin. And from that day forward, we have experienced it all, usually moving as a trio. In this last month, as I have returned home to myself and God, I've done so with Taraji and Swaady almost always by my side. We have prayed together. We broke bread together at least 5 times a day...🤣🤣🤣🤣ahem, TJ. We've traveled and laughed. We've danced. And lead car karaoke together. We celebrated Xmas, New Year and my birthday. We've begun to dream forward for ourselves, together and for the healing of other black women. T, look at God! He knew. And He was right on time. I'm grateful for you! I love you so much and am honored to have shared this part of our journeys at this very moment in time. Thank you for your wisdom. Thank you for your wit. Thank you for your vulnerability. Thank you for who you are. Here's to this season of renewal and growth. You, me, we...deserve it! ❤️ you Boo. I mean it! See you in LA, T.
