Todd Oldham is returning to fashion with an assist from his nephew, jewelry designer @presley.oldham. @toddoldham_makershop will see the '90s wunderkind offer new styles incorporating elements from his archive, which includes everything from unused and leftover fabrics to buttons and hardware. The latter Presley used to create a collection of one-of-a-kind jewelry. Among the 15 or so pieces, there’s a simple necklace made with pearls and gold-plated Swarovski crystal buttons from spring 1994 (the year Presley was born), a pair of earrings featuring paisley-shaped sculptures by Angel Dormer for fall 1993, and a necklace made with Presley’s signature freshwater pearls and gold plated beaded disc shapes also from fall 1993 collection. The jewelry is quirky and fun, much like Todd’s work, but has the same tactile and semi-classical qualities as Presely’s. “Presley just inherited the joy of making, being process oriented, not so outcome oriented,” Todd said. “He was the right person to do this because he has great knowledge and respect for things prior to his birthday, and just an understanding of being present in the process."
