December 8th, 2023.... I graduated from SAGU with my Bachelor’s in Marketing and Associate’s in Religious Studies. On December 4th, 2019, I signed to run cross country and track at SAGU on my official visit. This was during the worst season of my life. I remember a few months prior praying and telling God that if He is real that He is going to have to prove it to me. I had lost all faith and hope in my life and questioned whether He was even real. However, I heard God’s voice for the first time in a long time on that day and He told me to just “go.” I sit here today to tell you that me going to SAGU was the best decision I ever made behind choosing to follow Jesus. I have been pushed, challenged, and grown tremendously in my faith. I have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, got the opportunity to lead a teammate to Jesus and baptize him, speak in chapel, lead small groups, preach sermons at youth, and disciple many others. None of that is possible without God’s grace and mercy over my life and it has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with Him. When I was a toddler, I had hearing problems. The doctors said I was slowly going deaf and would eventually need hearing aids. They said I would always be behind in school, not be able to do certain things, and that I would never be able to talk normal. I was in speech therapy until I was 8 years old. When I was 5 years old my speaking capabilities were compared to a 2-3 year old. However, the many prayers that were prayed over me worked. I sit here today as a living testimony. The enemy tried to shut me up, but God shut him up. God gave me a voice and a platform to tell the world about Him and I’m not stopping until I’m dead, no matter the circumstances. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, can’t wait to keep pursuing my MBA and run my last track & cross country season! ❤️
