LaTisha Chong (@iam_thechong), the hair stylist responsible for @serenawilliams's beachy locks in Vogue's September cover, passed away on July 19 after a battle with cancer. She was 32 years old. Alongside her work on global Vogue covers and editorials, including @palomija's cover for American Vogue’s January 2021 issue, Chong was known for working with a myriad of models and luminaries like @jeremyoharris, @ziwef, and @adutakech, as well as for being @telfarglobal's first-ever hair director. She is survived by her parents Darlene and Garrick, sisters Afesha and Tenisha, her 12-year old son Malachi, and her friends and loved ones; some of whom we asked to share with us their memories of Chong. "Some people are gifted and some people are talented but LaTisha was both," @ianisiah told Vogue Runway's @geometriclseep, adding "she literally just reigned over both and we miss her."
