Push-Ups and KB Swings
It’s the middle of the summer and everybody’s trying to get in shape.
.
KB swings are being done everywhere.
.
Careful not to overwork your back though.
.
The KB swing is an explosive deadlifting motion. That means the pressure is going through the back of the arch(not the heel) at the bottom and through the middle of the foot pushing down at the top.
.
At the top you also shouldn’t be leaning back. Once the torso is vertical you should be bracing hard and holding the ribs down over the feet so you are standing straight up and down.
.
The KB swing is a great hamstring, glute, low back, **AND CORE** exercise. The major core work happens in preventing the spine from completely flexing at the bottom and at the top where the front core muscles work to stop the upwards momentum from swinging the body backwards.
.
Aim to control the flow of pressure through the feet and stop the momentum at the top by holding the ribs down over the middle of the feet.
.
Give those tips a swing and not only will the core work harder but so will the glutes.
