I get asked a lot about my process when it comes to shooting headshots...
-
I’m insanely passionate about connecting and collaborating with actors. Obsessed with it actually. My main goals during every shoot are always...
-
1. Make sure the person looks like they do in life in the pictures.
2. Ask questions and listen.
3. Provide a collaborative environment where we can explore ideas and play.
4. Communicate and guide people every step of the way during their shoot.
5. See the best in every single person that sets foot in the studio.

Acting headshot photography isn’t about art to me. It’s not about “my work” or the lighting or the backgrounds. It’s about connection, trust, and exploration to capture and tell your unique story in headshots, so casting directors can envision you in their projects.
-
There was a time in the beginning where I was more focused on trying to capture an “artistic product” for actors and it just didn’t work. It became more about the art than the person. Which is not the goal...it’s about you, not me.
-
I could go on and on because I love collaborating with actors so much I can’t even put it into words! ❤️ but that’s currently where I’m at when it comes to shooting headshots. It will probably morph and shift as time roles on but one thing that will never change is my dedication to providing a fun, creative and safe environment where actors can open up try things and be encouraged to push their own boundaries when it comes to headshots. -Ted

These are some shots of actor @jeff.burkes from a shoot not too long ago. Jeff came in with a bunch of ideas and a really awesome energy. Thanks Jeff for jamming with me in the studio! 🙌
