A bit serendipitous that @live.fast.die.old gave me this book about a month before Rampage... I’ve always been told I’m “the most confident man in mountain biking” “mentally tough” etc. It’s flattering, but I usually dismiss it, as nobody knows what is really going on in my head. Maybe in comparison I’m actually far more confident than others? Regardless of any label, status or award, we all have our personal struggles; the only thing I do is my best. My Mom always said,”You gave it your darnedest” and that’s enough. The “Toughness Award” wasn’t the goal, but it is indicative of “giving it my darnedest”. No matter who you are competing against, or what level you are at, living up to your potential is always the goal. I know my potential is still to win, but I did everything in my power to achieve that goal. I’ll just have to wait another whole year for another shot. We can still revel in the fact we got to see our bestest of friends, have some fun on our bikes and continue to live the dream 🤙 Also, super pumped to see they put @sensusgrips on the trophy 🏆 @aledilullophotography
