Clouds, foreground, humidity and ambient light can all change the exposure which is a challenge in itself during a three to five minute exposure. This launch was the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Hotbird 13-F satellite for Eutelsat launched from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The left side of the photo is bright, light, with the arcing rocket bringing light into darkness, seemingly towards the waning gibbous moon.
