Rubs the Zebra was rescued from a hunting safari park in Texas. He was bred to be docile and loving of humans so it’d be easier to hunt him. Instead of a life of being hunted for “sport” he’s spending the rest of his days here at Kaleidoscope Desert enjoying the company of both animal and human friends. He’s already a guest favorite and if you’re patient and lucky enough he’ll show you how much he loves to get rubs from humans. His two best friends are our two mini horses also rescued from Texas. He roams free around the grounds of Kaleidoscope Desert and his favorite watering hole is the fountain in front of the Desert Villa or the Natural Pool. He snacks of the Mesquite tree whose long thorns don’t create any problems due to his natural instincts. Rubs thinks the black and white Harlequin Great Dane’s are weird looking Zebra’s and when they first arrived he’d stay at the window looking in at them wondering why he didn’t get to go inside with the other new “zebras” Rubs is a great member of the family here at Kaleidoscope Desert, staying here supports both him and the rescue and care of the other rescue animals.
