I remember growing up watching VH1 Storytellers constantly. I loved music and getting to see a small intimate view of the people as artists felt so special. I remember thinking, “how would anybody be able to actually attend one of these” it seemed like such a rare opportunity. This experience felt like one of those “if my 10 year old self could see what I was doing” moments. I’m insanely thankful. This shoot was a pretty emotional one for me. On top of having this nostalgic love for the documenting of musicians, I was going through a lot of big changes in my life that left me distracted and anxious questioning who I am for a while. We also were coming off a year and a half of no live music which is something I missed so much in 2020. So to be able to come to this shoot, put that energy into problem solving and passion, photograph a small, intimate, absolutely insane live performance, and feel the support from my team to create these, I can’t help but be endlessly thankful.
